I use two independent services to prove domain ownership and social media profile management; these are miiCard and Keybase.
miiCard allows individuals to verify their identity using ‘real world’ methods – including using bank details, electoral roll information and utility and credit check details.
In turn, once confirmed, the individual can link to their social media profiles, eBay profile and qualification websites to verify ownership of the profiles on these sites. Additionally, the individual can verify ownership of a number of domains.

Keybase works in a different manner to miiCard.
Keybase allows individuals to verify ownership of domains and social media profiles via secret keys and authorisation codes.
By including these codes in areas of a website domain or via a post on a social media profile, the Keybase service confirms and authorises the code, proving ownership of the domain or profile.
In addition, the Keybase service permits encrypted communications and messaging to take place.
This Quora answer describes Keybase more explicitly.

I have provided links to these verification methods in an attempt to prove that I am who I say I am, and to remove any ambiguity or confusion over profiles and domains I own or manage.
Despite this, you should continue to perform your own checks prior to communicating or interacting with profiles and domains claiming to be me.
Please note that I will never request credit/debit card information (including authorisation codes, card numbers, expiry dates) or bank details such as account numbers and sort codes on social media or via publicly available messaging systems.
