And in the beginning…

It may surprise some of you to know that this isn’t the first time I’ve delved into the world of blogging; others, though, may be a little more familiar with my background.

A few years ago, I was what could be described as “a professional blogger”. That is, I was paid for writing blogs.

OK, the pay wasn’t all that great – but given it was only a hobby and I had very few readers, it was pretty awesome to be asked by a national newspaper to contribute to their new approach to sports reporting. There was even a big photoshoot in London… I’ll dig out the photos one day maybe.

But I digress.

So hello. I’m Matt.

I’ve been around the internet since the late 1990’s. Back then, I was a teenager with nothing better to do than hang around MSN Messenger, AIM and some chat rooms.

Then I moved onto University and started to explore social media; the likes of Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

Nowadays, I build and develop websites whilst trying to raise two boys the best way possible.

I’ve made a return to blogging in an effort to document the useful (and useless) information that I come across, to offer insights and to try and explain the various aspects of technology and “the internet” terminologies that often baffle and confuse.

To help me out, feel free to leave comments on the posts as-and-when they appear. You can find me on various social media networks still – including LinkedIn and Instagram too, so feel free to connect with me on there too.

All that’s left for me to say, for now, is welcome to the journey…
